Beer For My Brother

I would like to introduce you to my brother Floyd, my grandson Brit and my niece Lexie

Getting ready for the Christmas season makes my heart expand with love. I have enough love for the entire world, and I thank the Lord that he made me who I am.

My brother Floyd says he drinks beer daily which is how he contributes to the world by saving water for the rest of us. I am thanking my brother today for his charitable contributions; I am making BEER BREAD for him!


3 cups self-rising flour, 2 1/4tableoons raw sugar, 1 (12-ounce) can beer, 1/4 cup chopped walnuts, 1 cup butter, 1/4 cup raw honey, 1/4 cup chopped cranberries.

In a bowl dump the flour and sugar, thoroughly mix.  Slowly add the beer mix well after each addition. Pour the batter into a greased and floured pound cake pan. Melt butter in a bowl. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, pour half the butter on top. Return to the oven and cook for another 20-25 minutes.   To check doneness insert a case knife if it comes out clean the bread is done. Allow to cool for about 10-minutes, turn out of the pan. Mix the cranberries and nuts with the remaining butter, pour over the warm bread.  It’s now ready to serve.
