This is a Candied Pecan recipe that I saw on-line on my facebook page cookingwithjacquerose@gmail.com. I made the recipe as published with a couple of additions and adjustments to fit my personal taste.
INGREDIENTS: 1 1/4 cup dark brown sugar, packed, 1/2 teaspoon fine sea salt, 1/4 teaspoon mace, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, 3 tablespoons warm water, 1 tablespoon salted butter, 1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract, 1/4 teaspoon cayenne and 3 cups pecan halves.
Add all the ingredients, EXCEPT the pecans, to a large skillet, Cook over medium high-heat. Stirring continuously with a wooden spoon until everything dissolves continue stirring until it bubbles. Add the pecans, continue to cook and stir for another 2-3 minutes. Make sure all the nuts are coated. Poured them out onto a platter and allowed them to cool. The secret is to eat some while you separate them. Store them in an airtight container.
Tonight I am adding these pecans to my salad, tomorrow I am adding a couple of nuts to a shot of vodka.
How are you gonna serve your batch of CANDIED PECANS?
