texas trash

Texas Trash is the perfect party snack.  I was served this snack about fifteen years ago at a super bowl party.  Texas Trash is my movie viewing favorite snack.

1 (14 oz.) package bite-size corn square cereal, 1 (14 oz.) package crispy rice cereal squares, 1 cup cheese crackers, 1 (14 oz.) package bite-size wheat square cereal, 1 (8.9 oz.) box toasted oat cereal rings, 2 1/2 cups pecan halves, 1/2 cup mixed nuts, 1 (15 oz.) package pretzel sticks, 1 (12 oz.) package sesame snack sticks, 1 cup  bacon drippings, 1 cup salted butter, 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce, 2 tablespoons liquid smoke flavoring, 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes,  2 teaspoons hot sauce, 3 teaspoons sea salt, 1 teaspoon celery salt, 4 teaspoons chili powder, 4 teaspoons granulated garlic, 4 teaspoons hot sauce and 1 package of taco seaasoning mix.

Preheat oven to 300 degrees.  Get out a saucepan, add the bacon drippings, butter, Worcestershire sauce, liquid smoke, cayenne pepper, sea salt, chili powder, granulated garlic, onion powder, celery salt, hot sauce, 1/2 of the package of the taco seasoning, and red pepper flakes together in a microwave.  Pour this mixture over the cereal and nut mix, stirring until each piece is coated.  Pour the cereal and nuts into a large glass baking pan lined with parchment paper and bake for approximately 1-hour, stir and turn over every 15-20mminutes.  Cool slightly and serve. Taste add remaining taco seasoning if needed.   If by chance you have any leftovers, store in  an airtight container
