White northern beans and grapeseed oil gets us started on a delicious hummus

Almost homemade white northern bean hummus means Blue Runner beans. I serve this dish with pita chips, sliced celery, cucumbers and red and yellow bell peppers.

3 cloves garlic, 2 sprigs fresh rosemary, 2 (15.5 oz.) cans spicy Blue Runner white beans, rinsed and drained, ¼ teaspoon fresh lemon juice, ¼ teaspoon cayenne, 1/2 cup grapeseed oil, 3 tablespoons tahini sauce.

Pulse garlic and rosemary in a food processor until minced. Add the next five ingredients.  Process until smooth.  Be sure to scrape down the sides.  Slowly pour the oil through the chute until the bean mixture is smooth and a little shiny. If you don’t have a food processor, chop, chop, chop. Pour mixture into a glass bowl, cover and chill for at least 2-hours.  Garnish with chopped garlic and cayenne.
