CRANBERRY SHERBET

cranberries

1 pound fresh or frozen cranberries, 1 cup water, 2 cups raw sugar, 1 envelope unflavored gelatin, 1/4 cup fresh orange juice, 1-pint cranberry juice, 2 tablespoons fresh orange zest, 1/8 teaspoon salt, 1 1/2 tablespoons Grand Marnier.

In a heavy pot add the water and sugar.  Cook on medium heat until the sugar dissolves.  Add the gelatin, cranberries and juices mix well, cook on a low heat for approximately 5 minutes or until the cranberries pop. Remove from the stove, add the orange zest, salt, and Grand Marnier, mix well.  I freeze some of the juice in ice cubes trays and the remaining juice in a bowl.  This sorbet is the perfect finish to any day.
