Let’s get some moist and tender beef shanks in 30-minutes. Beef bones are rich in bone marrow.  Bone marrow can add that over the top flavor and body to your stock.  This just might be the best dish I have made in my Insta Pot.


4 pounds beef shank, 3 tablespoons vegetable oil,  2 tablespoons flour, 2 minced garlic cloves, 1 medium diced yellow onion, 2 cups prepared beef broth, 2 tablespoons Creole seasoning salt,  2 teaspoons granulated garlic, 1 teaspoon pepper, 1 envelope onion soup mix.

In a bowl, mix together the onion soup mix, flour, seasoning salt, pepper, and granulated garlic mix well.  Drizzle 1 tablespoon of the oil on the meat, generously rub the soup mixture on the meat.  Get out the Insta pot.  With the lid off, add the remaining oil into the pot, heat to high.  Drop the meat into the pressure cooker and cook on all sides until the meat is seared and brown, this process takes about 10 minutes.  Add the remaining ingredients to the pot.  Secure the top push 20 minutes to cook on high. Allow the pressure to release naturally while you prepare the rest of the meal.


I recommend green beans with new potatoes, a beautiful toss salad, steamed rice, beef 30 weight gravy, and dinner rolls.
