PUMPKIN CAKE
2 cups cake flour, sifted 3 times, 1 1/4 cup sugar, 1/4 teaspoon baking powder, 1 teaspoon baking soda. 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves, 1/4 teaspoon ground mace, 1/2 teaspoon salt,
1/3 cup shortening, melted, 1/2 cup warm water, 1 1/4 cup canned pumpkin, 2 eggs, beaten, 2/3 cup walnuts, chopped, 1/3 cup dates, chopped
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease and flour a bundt pan set aside. Get out a bowl, add the sifted flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, mace, and salt, mix well. Add the remaining ingredient stir until blended. Pour into the bundt pan. Bake for about 70 minutes or until a case knife inserted in the cake comes out clean. Turn upside down on a plate. When cooled invert and lightly sprinkle with powdered sugar.
