It’s football season, and this is a great dish to serve and snack on while you watch the games.
PARTY BALLS
3 cups baking mix, 1 cup chicken broth, 1 pound grated sharp cheddar cheese, 1/2 pound hot breakfast sausage, 1/2 pound spicy Italian sausage, casing removed, 1 chopped celery stalk, 1/2 cup dried cranberries, 1/4 cup Granny Smith apples, finely diced, 1/4 cup chopped walnuts, 2 1/2 tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes, salt and pepper to taste.
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Fry sausage until done, drain and crumble into a bowl, add the pepper flakes mix well. Add cheese, cranberries, apples, nuts and baking mix, stir together. Gradually add the chicken broth the dough is going to be very stiff. Rolls the dough into balls about 1-inch in diameter. Put the balls on a lightly greased cookie sheet, bake for approximately 12 – 15 minutes or until the balls are browned
