STEAK WITH MUSHROOM GRAVY

What makes this dish unique is that it is salt-free.  I am going to post at least one soul food delicious diabetic-friendly dish every week.  If there is a dish you would like to see, please let me know

1 pound lean ground turkey, 1/2 pound ground chicken, 2 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce, 1 teaspoon black pepper, 1 packages onion soup mix, 1 garlic clove sliced, 1/4 cup white onions, sliced, 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

Get out a bowl, add all the ingredients except the oil, mix well. Form patties about 1 1/2-inch thick, set aside.  Get out a skillet, add the butter, melt do not heat so high it smokes. Add the patties cook on each side dor about 3 minutes or until browned.  Remove from the patties from the skillet, set aside.  Add the onion slices, swirl until they are translucent but still crisp, remove and set aside.

Mushroom Gravy:  Add 1 tablespoon butter to the same skillet and 1 1/2 tablespoons of self-rising flour.  Whisk until the flour is brown.  Add 10 ounces baby bella mushrooms, sliced, cook until they start to brown.  Remove the mushrooms from the skillet, set aside. Add 1 1/2 – 2 2 cups chicken broth, 1 1/2 tablespoon self-rising flour, 1/8 teaspoon onion powder, 1/4 teaspoon granulated garlic, 1/8 celery seeds, 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, continue to whisk until smooth.  This process takes about 4 minutes.  Add the patties into the gravy continue to cook until the gravy thickens.  Taste add dry seasonings as needed. Garnish with chopped flat-leaf parsley.
