STEAMED WHITE RICE
Get out a heavy bottom saucepan. Add 1 cup long-grain white rice. Wash the rice to get off some of the starch. The water will look cloudy. Put your pointer finger on top of the rice, add water until it reaches the first joint of your pointer finger. Add 1 tablespoon salted butter. Bring to a rapid boil or until the water level is just below the rice’s surface; this step takes 3-5 minutes. Stir one time to combine the butter. Put a lid on the pan, reduce the heat to the lowest eye and simmer for 15-17 minutes. Remove from the heat, do not remove the lid for at least 10-minutes. Remove the lid, fluff the rice with a fork. Rice is ready to be served!
