GREEN BEAN ALMONDINE
1 cup slivered almonds, toasted, 1 tablespoon minced garlic, 3 tablespoons diced white onions, 6 tablespoons butter, melted, 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice, 1 (16 oz.) package frozen french cut green beans, 4 slices of bacon, 1 1/2 tablespoons lemon zest.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Add the almonds, single layer, to a cookie sheet. Bake until you can smell them, remove from the oven, toss and set them aside. Add the beans to the skillet you cooked the bacon in. Cook the beans according to the package directions. Drain the beans, add the minced garlic, onions, butter, lemon juice, and toss. Make sure the beans are fully coated, taste, add salt and pepper as needed. Pour the beans onto a serving bowl or a platter, evenly sprinkle the lemon zest, almonds, and bacon crumbles on top, serve.
