SAUSAGE RICE PILAF

SAUSAGE RICE PILAF

1/2 pound hot turkey breakfast sausage, 1/2 pound lean ground chicken, 1 cup celery, chopped, 1/4 cup red bell pepper, chopped, 1/4 cup white onions, chopped, 1 garlic clove, minced, 1 (10.75 oz) can cream mushroom soup, 1 cup milk, 1/2 cup evaporated milk, 1/2 cup uncooked basmati rice, 1/2 teaspoon poultry seasoning,  1/2 teaspoon Cajun seasoning salt, 1/2 teaspoon granulated onion, 1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Get out a cast iron skillet, add the sausage, cook until brown, not pink, drain.  Add the chicken, cook for 3-4 minutes.  Add the celery, onions, bell pepper, and garlic.  Cook until the bell pepper is tender.  Add the remaining ingredients, mix well.  Cover the skillet and bake for 45-50 minutes.  Uncover the skillet and bake for an additional 17-20 minutes.  Taste if the rice is done; it’s time to serve.
