My grandson Robert was 16 years old yesterday. He has requested a special cheeseburger, lettuce, onions, pickles, bacon, and an over-easy egg.

Here’s a list of everything we need to prepare four (4) burgers. Season 26 ounces of 80/20 ground beef with 1 1/4 teaspoons kosher salt, 1 1/4 teaspoons black pepper, 1/2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, 2 teaspoons granulated garlic, 2 teaspoons onion powder, and 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper. Mix everything, do not overmix cause that will make your burgers tough.
Fry 8 pieces of thin-sliced bacon until crisp, set it aside. Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal parts. Shape into a loose ball. Flatten out each ball into a patty about 1 1/2 inch thick and 4 inches round. Make a slight indention in the center of the patty with your thumb. That indention will ensure your burger cooks evenly. Cook each patty on medium heat for about 3-4 minutes. Now it’s time to dress your burger. 4 toasted sesame seed burger buns, tomatoes, romaine lettuce, red onions, pickle slices, American cheese, and mayonnaise top off with an over-easy egg.
Peel and cut the potatoes into steak fries. Deep fry the potatoes for 3 minutes, remove from the grease, allow them to rest for 2-3 minutes. Please return to the grease and fry until golden brown and float to the top.
