I will be watching the NBA SUMMER LEAGUE. The Lakers play the Pelicans tonight. I will be rooting for the Lakers, eating Fettuccine Alfredo with a couple of friends, and toasting every Laker basket with a sip of Chardonnay.
1 pound of medium shrimp, remove heads, shells and devein,1 pound fettuccine noodles, 6 tablespoons butter, 2/3 cup heavy whipping cream, 2 garlic cloves, minced, 3/4 teaspoon Italian seasoning,1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic, 1/4 teaspoon white pepper, 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg, 2 cups Parmesan cheese, grated, 3 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped. Cook pasta according to the package directions with the shrimp shells and 3 cloves of garlic. Drain, do not rinse, set aside. Get out a skillet, heat to medium, add the butter and cream. Cook until well blended and smooth add the minced garlic; continue to cook until you smell the garlic. Gradually add the cheese, whisk until melted. Do not let the cheese sauce bubble, or your sauce will be lumpy. Add the shrimp and cook for 7-8 minutes or until they turn orange. Pour the drained pasta onto a beautiful purple and gold platter, add the sauce, toss with a fork and serve. LET’S GO LAKERS, I am looking forward to the new season.
