It’s very important that you take care of your cast iron skillets, with care, they will last forever. I define forever as my lifetime.
HOW TO SEASON: Cast-iron skillets must be seasoned before use. Coat the skillet with cooking oil and bake the skillet in the oven at 350 degrees for at least an hour. Dry the skillet with paper towels. Your skillet is now ready to use.
HOW TO CLEAN: Rinse the skillet with hot water immediately after cooking. If you need to remove burned-on food, scrub with coarse salt. If the pan develops rust, scrub it with steel wool and re-season it. To prevent rust, dry the skillet thoroughly. I dry the skillet on the stovetop, dip the tip of a paper towel in oil and lightly coat the skillet.
