Cheesy grits with butter

2/3 cup quick grits, 1 1/3 cups water, 1 1/3 cups heavy whipping cream, 3 T. salted butter, 1 tsp. salt, 1 tsp. black pepper, 2/3 cup cheddar cheese, grated.

Add the water and cream to a saucepan, and bring to a boil.  Slowly add the grits, combine using a fork.  The fork will ensure your grits not will not have any lumps.  Add the remaining ingredient.  Continute to stir until the cheese melts.  Put a top on the pan and reduce the heat to low.  Cook until the mixture is smooth.
