This recipe has been handed down through my family for at least three generations. The peach dump cake is my favorite.
2 (16 oz.) cans peaches, heavy syrup, 1 (18.25 oz.) package yellow cake mix, 3/4 cup salted butter, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, 2 tablespoons sugar, 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Dump the peaches, reserve the syrup into a 9×13-inch aluminum pan, set it aside. Get out a bowl, add the cake mix, the peach syrup, vanilla, and sugar, mix. Pour the cake batter over the peaches. Cut the butter into small pieces, evenly distribute the butter over the cake batter. Evenly sprinkle the cinnamon on top of the butter. Bake for 40-45 minutes.
